
Looking for a fun, creative activity you can drop in and enjoy? Stop in the studio any Saturday we are open for the Quick Canvas Saturdays event and create a completed painting in less than 30 minutes!
Choose between the different painting prompts for that day or make your own creation depending on your comfort level and creative mood. It's the perfect low-pressure way to explore painting at your own pace. Paintings only take 20-30 minutes on average; the time it takes only depends on you and how much detail and time you want to take.
All materials are provided!
Whether you're a beginner or just want to relax with some art, Quick Canvas sessions are a simple, joyful way to get painting—on your schedule!

Teen Art Night
Geek Brush Studio presents Teen Art Night--a monthly evening of creativity and community designed just for teens ages 13-18!
Each Teen Art Night features:

Looking for a fun, hands-on activity to help fill your child’s summer with creativity? Join us for a 4-day half-day art camp where young artists will explore new mediums, create original works, and let their imaginations soar!
Each day features a different artistic focus, where kids will learn a new technique, complete a painting or art project, and have free time to experiment and make the medium their own. Plus, we’re excited to welcome back Kam Reynolds of Kam Komics, who will lead a special session on comic book art!

Palette knife giving you trouble? It can be challenging to understand how to hold your palette knife in just the right way to get those snowy mountain looking majestic or to make sure your path and land areas flow in the right way without looking like a cliff when you wanted a gentle slope. This class with help guide you and give you more practice on just that!
We will spend the 3-hours practicing holding the palette knife without applying pressure, understanding the angles used and shading applied to give your landscape character and depth.
$60 All materials provided. Perfect for any skill level.

Need practice creating different types of trees? In this class we will look at how to create a variety of different trees from pines to full and climbable deciduous trees to bushes and more. You will learn when to use a fan brush or knife for different effects and how best to make the script liner do what you want when making those long fine branches.
This is a 3-hour class. All supplies included. Great for beginners as well as more experienced artists looking for more practice.

Looking to improve your clouds and water scenes? Join us in the studio to practice different types of clouds (from cumulus to cirrus to stratus) and waters (from waterfalls to waves). We will spend 3 hours "tickling the clouds" and fanning our waters to help understand the different techniques used with different brushes.

Looking for a fun activity for your artistic child to do when they have the day off of school? We've got you covered!
Sign them for this 2-hour paint workshop where we will explore and learn about artistic methods used in the painting project for the day's class. They will not only walk away with a finished art project, but also learn about best practices to recreate similar pieces at home. Perfect for kids age 7-12.
$40/person. All materials are provided for and covered in cost of admission for this class

Let's play with knives....palette knives that is! For this paint workshop, the pressure is completely off as we create some messy masterpieces with oil paints and palette knives---NO BRUSHES! (Well, except maybe to sign our names.) Let's get messy!!

This November Geek Brush Studio is honored to host the first of many Watercolor Workshops with professional artist, Rocco Pisto.
Have you ever wanted to learn the nuances of watercolor? Or have you been looking to upgrade your current skill level? Or perhaps you are just looking to practice in new ways and bring new ideas to your already amazing works?
You are in luck because ALL experience levels are welcome to join in this workshop! Whether you're brand new to watercolor or a seasoned watercolorist, everyone benefits and learns from each other. This is a 2-Day workshop. **Please note, you only need to register once for both classes in the series.**
Supplies Required (bring your own or purchase them at Geek Brush Studio--supplies purchased through Geek Brush Studio must be ordered in advance to insure arrival in time for class.) Below is a list of recommended supplies:
A 1-hour lunch break will be taken, so plan accordingly.
About the Artist:
Rocco has spent over 50 years as an artist, focused primarily on abstract watercolor painting.
Rocco earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1974 with post-
baccalaureate studies and Master of Fine Art work at both Wayne State University and Eastern Michigan University. As a graduate student, Rocco was granted a teaching fellowship.
Currently, Rocco is President Emeritus of the Michigan Watercolor Society (MWCS) after serving for more than 10 years on the board holding various positions. He also holds both a Signature
Membership and Great Lakes Fellow designation in that group; as well as memberships in the
National Watercolor Society, International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA), and the Brighton
Art Guild.
Rocco’s art work has won several awards from different nationally recognized artists that jury the
MWCS Annual Exhibitions. He has also been asked to jury various community exhibitions and
provide experimental watercolor workshops. Currently based in Michigan, Rocco has exhibited in a number of galleries in Ohio, Michigan and Arizona.


Throughout all of November, local artist Chris Dragan will have many of his works on display at Geek Brush Studio. All are welcome to come see and purchase his work during regular studio hours, Wed thru Fri 10-5 and Saturdays 12-6.
There will be a special Meet the Artist Event on Saturday, November 22 from 6-9pm. This will be your chance to meet the artist behind the work and inquire about his pieces.
During this event there will be hors d'oeurves and beverages available for attendees.
**Registration is not required but highly recommended.**

I am excited to be partnering with Pets in Focus for a very special holiday photo session for you and your pets in the studio this November.
We have a beautiful "Nutcracker" themed backdrop that each family will bring to life in a unique way... whether that's the ugly Christmas sweaters you all coordinate, a well-placed bandana or bow-tie, or the fun and laughter I catch in those candid moments you forget you're in front of the camera.

Looking for a fun and festive way to spread holiday cheer this year? Join us in the studio to make some Holiday Cards with watercolor! And you will be guided through some steps to help you make colorful and festive cards to give to your loved ones!
This workshop is great for all ages, adults and kids alike. Kids 8 and under may need assistance from their guardian.
$25/person; all supplies included. Each registered person can make 4-6 cards.
