Bob Ross® Style Painting Classes

Our most popular offering, these step-by-step painting classes are taught in the iconic Bob Ross® wet-on-wet oil painting technique, known for its soothing style and beautiful, landscape-filled results. Led by certified instructor Brenda Fineman, each class is designed to be welcoming, relaxing, and completely beginner-friendly.

In just one session, you’ll complete a finished oil painting to take home and display—no experience necessary, and all materials are included. Whether you're looking to unwind, try something new, or just embrace your inner happy little tree, this class is the perfect creative escape.

Looking for one-on-one guidance to grow your skills or simply enjoy a relaxing creative retreat? Our Private Painting Lessons are customized to your goals, pace, and preferred medium—whether you’re interested in the Bob Ross® wet-on-wet oil technique, acrylics, or watercolor.

Taught by certified instructor Brenda Fineman, private lessons are perfect for total beginners, returning artists, or anyone craving a quiet, focused space to paint. Each session is fully tailored and includes all materials—just bring your curiosity and a desire to create.

We offer flexible single-session and multi-lesson packages to fit your schedule and artistic journey. Whether you're exploring for the first time or working toward artistic growth, private lessons are a calming, empowering way to deepen your creative connection.

Private Painting Events

Make your next gathering unforgettable with a Private Painting Event at Geek Brush Studio! Perfect for birthdays, bridal showers, corporate team-building, family reunions, friend nights, and more, these events are all about having fun while creating something beautiful—no experience needed.

Led by certified instructor Brenda Fineman, your group will be guided step-by-step through a painting of your choice in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. You can bring your own food and drinks or let us arrange optional catering to make it extra special.

We can host up to 20 guests in our cozy Chelsea, MI studio, or bring the painting experience to your location for an additional fee. All materials are provided—just show up, get creative, and enjoy a memorable event filled with laughter, learning, and a little paint on your hands.

Quick Canvas Sessions

Looking for a casual, creative way to spend an afternoon? Our Quick Canvas Sessions are perfect for walk-ins who want to enjoy painting without committing to a full class. These relaxed, drop-in sessions are great for beginners, families, or anyone who just wants to get their hands on a brush and create something beautiful in a short amount of time.

No registration is required—just stop by during one of our Quick Canvas Saturdays.

All materials are included, and pricing is designed to be affordable:

$15 for teens and adults (8×10 acrylic painting)
$5 for kids (5×5 canvas)

Geek Brush Studio was born from a simple idea: that painting should be joyful, approachable, and deeply relaxing. Founded by Brenda Fineman, a Certified Bob Ross® Instructor and lifelong creative, the studio is a welcoming space where anyone—from absolute beginners to experienced artists—can slow down, breathe deep, and discover the joy of making art.

Brenda’s background combines fine art, education, and a passion for helping others connect with their creativity. After becoming certified in the Bob Ross® wet-on-wet technique, she opened Geek Brush Studio in Chelsea, Michigan to share the calming, confidence-boosting power of painting with her community. Her teaching style is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth—focused on progress, not perfection.
