About the artist

Gwyn McKay

In the many places that Gwyn has lived and worked, making and seeing art has always been a high priority. Some non-traditional adventures include working on a fish processing ship in Alaska, and going to Indonesia to learn more about batik (a form of fabric decoration using melted wax and dyes). On a traditional note, she earned her BA in Art, and after she returned to Michigan, married and had 3 children. Gwyn has worked in a variety of media, including fiber arts, watercolor, acrylic, oil, encaustic, and most recently egg tempera.
