Chelsea Art Alley · Main Street Masterpiece Contest
About this piece
Winter Fire is painted on black watercolor paper, an uncommon surface that lets bright, opaque pigment blaze against a dark ground. The black deepens every color and sharpens the contrast, turning the brushwork into glowing embers of light against the night and giving the piece its luminous, fire-in-winter intensity.
