Chelsea Art Alley · Main Street Masterpiece Contest
About this piece
This portrait of my dachshund Teddy was the first image I created while experimenting with a colored gel on my flash. There were no clients or expectations attached: just curiosity, creativity, and the freedom to try something new (which is often when the most meaningful work emerges). The moment I saw the tiny preview on the back of my camera, I knew we had created something special. Titled "Blue Steel," it references the steel shed at the location, its original aluminum print medium, and Teddy’s unexpectedly serious, almost cinematic expression.
