About this piece
Arguably the most iconic character from the most iconic toy line of all time, the Lego Spaceman has been a symbol of creativity and imagination for generations. This is my humble attempt to capture the playfully explorative nature of this childhood icon.

About the artist
Chris Dragan
My name is Chris Dragan, and I create art. Some people keep journals; for me, my artwork is my journal. My style incorporates elements of contemporary pop and abstract art, set against iconic images, pretentious smears, and other preposterous offerings.
My intent is for you to engage with and interpret each piece in your own way and be rewarded by the interaction. I especially strive to create pieces that elicit unique reactions when viewed up close and from afar.
Primary media include acrylics, oils, inks, watercolor, chalk, vintage magazines, books & comics, mismatched hardware, and other discarded treasures.
I have had the honor of displaying at a variety of local venues including Geek Brush Studio, the Canton Village Arts Factory, the Detroit Congregation, the Gallery at Brewery Park, Irwin House Gallery, the Crazy Diamond Club, Plymouth Art in the Park, and several other metro Detroit galleries and businesses.
