The play of shadows has always attracted my attention and I often find them more interesting than the objects that are casting the shadows. This piece has a pan pastel background of pale yellows, grays and blues. One of the wood plates in inked with oil based black ink and printed on this background. When this dries, the second plate is inked with orange and yellow relief inks and printed on top to create the final image.
